Commenti vs Commenter.ai: A Commenter.ai Alternative, Compared

Commenter.ai alternative or a name mix-up? Commenti and Commenter AI are different companies. Here is what each one actually does, and which one fits you.

different.

The short version

  • Commenti (commenti.in) and Commenter AI (commenter.ai) are different products from different companies, with no shared ownership and no relationship beyond similar names.
  • Commenter AI began as an AI commenting tool and now describes itself as a sales conversation prioritization tool across LinkedIn, email, and meetings, with AI drafting still included.
  • Commenter AI's plans are listed at $99, $149, and $350 per month with a 7-day trial; Commenti is $19 to $49 per month billed yearly for 20 to 60 AI comments a day.
  • Commenti automates commenting only. It does not send connection requests, does not send DMs, and never touches your inbox.
  • LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits third-party automation, so every tool in this space carries real risk. Design can reduce that risk; nothing removes it.

Searching for a commenter.ai alternative often starts with a name mix-up, so let us settle that first. Commenti (commenti.in) and Commenter AI (commenter.ai) are two different products from two different companies. Commenter AI is now a sales conversation prioritization tool with AI drafting built in. Commenti automates LinkedIn commenting, and only that.

We build Commenti, so read this comparison with that bias in mind. We will describe Commenter AI the way its own site describes it, link every page we checked, and say plainly when it is the better purchase.

Two similar names, two unrelated companies

Commenti lives at commenti.in. Commenter AI lives at commenter.ai and, according to its own About page, is operated by Commenter AI LTD, with Bogomil Stoev and Nathan Crockett listed as co-founders. There is no shared ownership, no shared codebase, no partnership, and no connection between us beyond a handful of letters.

The confusion is fair, because the two products did once overlap. Commenter AI started life as an AI commenting tool, and its homepage still says so directly: it started with AI commenting, and AI drafting is still part of the product. For a stretch of time, the two tools really did sit in the same lane.

As of July 2026 they no longer do, and that is probably the most useful sentence on this page. If you arrived here from an older roundup that files Commenter.ai under comment generators and stops there, that roundup is describing a product that has since changed direction. Check the live site before you buy on the strength of an old review. That applies to reviews of us, too.

What Commenter AI does now, and does well

Commenter AI's homepage leads with a sales problem, not a content problem: the pitch is about not losing deals you have already half-won. It connects LinkedIn, email, and meetings, then surfaces the conversations worth your attention before the buyer moves on. Its features page is named around that job: priority, context, ownership, AI drafting, activity, review, and control.

This is a genuinely good problem to attack. Pipeline rarely dies because someone wrote a mediocre message. It dies because a thread got buried under forty others and nobody followed up for eleven days. If you are a full-cycle AE or a recruiter juggling twenty live conversations across two inboxes, a single view that says "these four need you today" is worth real money.

Two more things they deserve credit for. Their features page still lists custom feeds built on people and keywords, and frames the AI as optional with the voice staying yours, so the commenting heritage has not been thrown away. And that same page is explicit that nothing is sent automatically and you approve every message. That is a conservative posture, and we respect it.

Their pricing page lists Signals at $99 per month, Workflow at $149, and Teams at $350, with a 7-day trial and no credit card required (checked July 2026). Draft and insight allowances scale with the tier. Those are sales-tool prices for a sales-tool job, which is a coherent thing to be.

What Commenti does, and why it is shaped this way

Commenti automates one activity: writing and posting comments on other people's LinkedIn posts. Everything in the product serves that:

  • Tone matching, so a comment sounds like you wrote it between meetings, not like a template with your name attached.
  • Targeting by specific creators and keywords, so you appear in the threads your buyers already read.
  • Skip filters that decline posts you should not touch: layoffs, grief, sensitive news, promotions where a generic reply would embarrass you.
  • Approve-or-autopost, so you can review every comment before it ships or let it run once you trust the output.
  • Daily caps and human-like pacing, because a burst of instant comments is the loudest signal an account can send.

Now the line that matters most for this comparison. Commenti does not send connection requests. It does not send DMs. It does not read your inbox, your email, or your calendar. Outreach automation is a different category, served by tools like Dripify, Expandi, HeyReach, Dux-Soup, and Waalaxy, and we are not in it. Commenter AI connects to your inbox by design. We deliberately stay out of it, which is a real limitation if the inbox is where your problem lives.

The caps are the product, not a constraint bolted onto it. We sell 20, 40, or 60 comments a day and we do not sell an unlimited plan. Someone asks us for one most weeks. We keep saying no, because daily comment volume is the single clearest tell an automated account gives off. A tool that happily posts 300 comments a day is selling you a faster route to a restriction and charging a premium for the privilege.

A pattern we see constantly: people sign up for the tone matching and end up valuing the skip filter more. The comments a tool refuses to write protect your reputation more than the ones it writes well. That is not the feature anyone shops for, and it is the one people mention when they renew.

Commenti costs $19, $29, or $49 per month billed yearly for 20, 40, or 60 AI comments a day. The tiers are built around 20-60 new followers a day; results vary by niche, profile, and account history. The first 200 users get a 60-day free trial.

If you are still working out whether commenting deserves a dedicated tool, our LinkedIn commenting strategy piece explains the mechanics, and our breakdown of what a LinkedIn comment generator actually does covers the category itself.

The price gap is not a discount. It reflects a scope gap. Commenter AI is trying to run your revenue conversations. Commenti is trying to make one repetitive daily habit take five minutes instead of ninety.

The part neither pricing page leads with

LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits third-party automation. That covers Commenti, and it covers any tool that acts on your LinkedIn account on your behalf. We operate against that policy and we say so out loud, because a comparison that quietly skips this is selling you something.

The risk is real and it scales with volume, speed, generic output, and how new or fragile your account is. Commenti is built to reduce that risk: caps keep your volume unremarkable, randomized pacing avoids robotic intervals, skip filters keep you out of threads that need a human, and approve mode keeps a person in the loop. Reduce is the only honest verb available. Close the tab on any vendor that promises more.

There are accounts we tell to skip automation entirely: brand new profiles, accounts that have already received a warning, and niches where every comment needs genuine domain expertise to land. We lay out the full picture in our take on whether LinkedIn automation is safe.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Commenter AI if your bottleneck is follow-up. If deals stall because you lost track of who was waiting on you across LinkedIn and email, a prioritization layer is the right purchase and a comment tool will not help you at all.

Pick Commenti if your bottleneck is visibility. If nobody knows who you are yet, and showing up thoughtfully under the right posts every day is how you plan to fix that, then depth in commenting is what you need: your voice, your targets, your caps, your final say.

And be honest about the stacking question. You can run both, but every additional automated action on one account raises your total exposure, which is exactly the variable LinkedIn watches. If you combine tools, keep the overall daily count boring.

Our limitations, stated plainly: Commenti has no inbox, no pipeline view, no scheduler, no analytics dashboard, and no DM feature. If you want those, we are not a close substitute for anything. If commenting is the job, Commenti starts at $19 per month billed yearly, and the first 200 users get a 60-day free trial. Two months is long enough to learn whether the commenting layer alone moves your numbers, which is the only question worth answering before you pay for anything larger.

Frequently asked questions

Are Commenti and Commenter.ai the same company?

No. They are separate products from separate companies. Commenti is at commenti.in and automates LinkedIn commenting. Commenter AI is at commenter.ai, operated by Commenter AI LTD, and its About page names Bogomil Stoev and Nathan Crockett as co-founders. There is no shared ownership or partnership between the two.

Is Commenti a good Commenter.ai alternative?

Only if commenting is the job you are hiring for. Commenter AI now leads with conversation prioritization across LinkedIn and email, with AI drafting alongside it. Commenti does commenting and nothing else, meaning tone matching, creator and keyword targeting, skip filters, daily caps, and approve-or-autopost. If you need a pipeline view, we are the wrong tool.

What does Commenter.ai cost compared to Commenti?

Commenter.ai's pricing page lists Signals at $99 per month, Workflow at $149, and Teams at $350, with a 7-day trial and no credit card required, checked July 2026. Commenti is $19, $29, or $49 per month billed yearly for 20, 40, or 60 AI comments a day, and the first 200 users get a 60-day free trial.

Does Commenti send LinkedIn DMs or connection requests?

No. Commenti only writes and posts comments on other people's posts. Connection requests and DMs are a different category handled by outreach tools like Dripify, Expandi, HeyReach, Dux-Soup, and Waalaxy. We do not read your inbox, your email, or your calendar, and we have no plans to.

Is either tool allowed by LinkedIn?

No. LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits third-party automation, which covers Commenti, Commenter AI, and everything else in the category. Enforcement risk grows with volume, speed, and generic output. The honest question is how much a tool's design reduces that risk and whether a human stays in the loop.

Automation that is built to reduce risk, not ignore it.

Daily caps, human-like pacing, skip filters and an approve-before-post mode. LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits third-party automation, ours included, so we design for lower exposure rather than pretending there is none.
